5 Questions with: Jody Stachel, Events 13 and Candy Rocks
1.) What is your favorite part about working with families celebrating Bnai Mitzvahs?
My favorite part is getting to know the families and love connecting with the Bar or Bat Mitzvah child. There is nothing better than hearing it was the best night of their lives.
2.) How did you get started in this business?
I started a Candy Buffet business named Candy Rocks back in 2010 after I successfully helped a friend with her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. I exclusively did candy and dessert tables until 2014, when I began doing full service event planning for my clients. We began Events 13 in 2014 and have been happily planning ever since.
3.) What is your favorite Jewish holiday and why?
My favorite Jewish holiday has to be Rosh Hashanah. The Celebration of the Jewish New Year, the fresh start, being with family and celebrating things sweet.
4.) How do you participate in Jewish life in Phoenix?
I participate in all fundraising events for synagogues and Jewish day schools and participate as a vendor at the Mitzvahs & More Expo. I am also busy most weekends at temple watching my clients experience one of Jewish life’s best moments! I volunteer my time to help any and all Jewish organizations throughout the valley.
5.) What is your favorite candy?
Chocolate Covered Jelly Rings!!!
